Installing the NAS to your computer: |

1. | Connect the USB interface |
2. | Open Disk Management and locate the hard drive a. Disk Management (for Windows)i. Go to Control Panel ii. Click on Administrative Tools iii. Click on Computer Management iv. Under Storage, click on Disk Management |
3. | To configure hard drives: a. Old Drivesi. Right click on the drive and delete partition in disk management ii. Create new primary partition iii. Assign a new drive letter iv. DO NOT FORMAT b. New Drives i. Create new primary partition ii. Assign a new drive letter iii. DO NOT FORMAT |
4. | After you have created a new primary partition and assigned a drive letter, turn the unit off and change the cable to RJ45 interface |

CONNECTING TO NAS option 1: |

5. | Connect RJ45 from the unit directly to the PC/Notebook Ethernet port |
6. | Turn on the unit and access the NAS through browser. |
7. | Web address: 169.254.0.1 a. User Name: admin b. Password: admin |
8. | You should see disk information on the status page |
9. | Check IP Configuration tab and make sure it is set to Automatic IP (this will allow your router to give DHCP IP address to your NAS |
10. | Click on Disk Utility |
11. | Click Format (this formats to FAT32) |
12. | Connect your RJ45 cable back to your PC and router |
13. | Connect your NAS to the router |
14. | Download Scan tool to check your NAS IP address |
15. | Place the IP on the web browser a. User Name: admin b. Password: admin |

*Once you have set or changed any configurations on your NAS, you will need to restart the unit to take effect. |

CONNECTING TO NAS option 2: |

5. | Connect RJ45 from the NAS unit directly to the router |
6. | Download Scan tool to check your NAS IP address |
7. | Place the IP address on the browser a. User Name: admin b. Password: admin |
8. | You should see disk information on the status page |
9. | Click on Disk Utility |
10. | Click Format (this formats to FAT32) a. This may take up to a few minutes to complete. |
